“Life of Ben” Vignette - Forest Fires, 2023

This was a tough comic to make. Young Ben, the main character here, is a proxy for me - and the panic/despair I felt in the summer of that year when Canada was going through an intense wildfire season. Smoke and ash blanketed the Toronto sky - the first time in my life I’d ever experienced something like that.
